Catching squid

When it comes to catching squid in Kat O, I would like to introduce a character, Hak Ka Yau from O Pui Tong. Originally named Sin Yau, Hak Ka Yau was a Hakka from outside Hong Kong who originally lived at Shek Kiu Tau near Ma Tseuk Leng Village in Sha Tau Kok and had an elder brother, and the two of them made their living by catching fish. Later, Sin Yau married a fisherman and settled down in Kat O. He built a temporary house in O Pui Tong and relied on the sea of O Pui Tong and Yan Chau Tong to support his family, and in his spare time, he would go to Tung O to play "Tin Kau" or "Fifteen Lakes", which is his daily life.

I have noticed how the Hakka Yau family catches squid. First, they put a handful of mango leaves and lucerne leaves in the centre of the sea opposite to the "big nest" to attract the squids to come and hide in the shade. After putting the mango leaves there for about two to three days, the whole family of Hakka Yau, Woo Chai and Hakka Yau's wife go out on a sampan and bring along a fishing net. The whole family of "Hakka Yau", "Wu Chai" and "Hakka Yau's Wife" would go out on a sampan and bring a fish net. They would circle the net around the "Mangrove Leaves" and "Lo Tsz Leaves", and then close the net slowly, and the squid would become a scallion in the urn.
